Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient
Sgt. Hiram Adam Delavie
He was a First Sergeant in the Union Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Sergeant in Company I, 11th Pennsylvania Infantry (Washington Blues) for action on April 1, 1865 at Five Forks, Virginia.

He was born in Stark County, Ohio near Canton is 1902;at the age of 19 he enlisted in the Union Army at Greensburg, PA as a member of Company I,11th PA INF. He was 5'10" tall, black hair, fair complexion, with hazel eyes. He was wounded at the Battle of First Bull Run, rose to the rank of 1`st Sgt.; was awarded the Medal for capturing a Confederate Flag at the Battle of Five Forks; After the war he settled down in East Liberty, PA near Pittsburgh. He married a Mary Ann Cribbs, September 17,1855 in Canton.
